MET Mentoring

MET Mentoring is a free mentoring programme for professionals in the marketing, digital and creative industries across the North of England. It was launched in 2020 as a not-for-profit venture of MET Marketing based in Leeds. We have two goals: to raise awareness about the positive effects of mentoring and to make it easier for marketers to access valuable support.

Through our programme we want to help marketers gain important knowledge, expand their professional contacts, and develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their career. It welcomes those looking for fresh perspectives and aspiring marketers seeking guidance and inspiration.  

Finding a marketing mentor is completely free, as is volunteering to be one. It is a supportive network open to all marketing professionals at any stage in their career journey. We don’t use AI or names in a hat. All our matching is done by an experienced team who find the best match for both mentor and mentee.

Since our first group launched in November 2020, we’ve grown to support hundreds of marketers through the programme. Our goal is to build a thriving, inclusive community of marketing professionals who mutually encourage and support each other to thrive. By supporting the growth of marketing professionals, we strengthen and elevate the industry, fostering innovation, creativity, and excellence.

Mentoring opportunities for ABM members

Our Marketing Mentors are all volunteers who kindly give up their time to support others. We welcome support from any ABM Marketing Members who can support our programme.

We run on average 2 to 3 mentoring cohorts each year and each of our programmes is designed to last for up to 12 months. On average our mentees spend one hour a month online with their mentors. To help support the community we run a quarterly event programme in Leeds and facilitate an online community support group.
