Association of Business Mentors launches workplace mentoring initiatives to support business growth

The professional body for business mentoring, the Association of Business Mentors, has today launched its new workplace mentoring initiatives. These new services, which reflect the ABM’s ongoing commitment to support the growth and success of UK Businesses, provides organisations who have mentoring programmes, or wish to offer programmes to their staff, with the tools to maximise success. In turn, this supports growth of employees and the business.

Commenting on the launch Georgina Waite ABM CEO said:

"Workplace mentoring is proven to drive measurable improvements in business. From increased productivity and employee satisfaction to a more cohesive workplace culture and higher profitability. However, the success of these initiatives depends on more than just good intentions—an effective mentoring programme requires careful planning, structure, and expertise.

The Benefits of Mentoring in the Workplace

Mentoring in the workplace re-engages, motivates, and creates a united front where skills can be transferred. It decreases the risks of cultural stagnation, low job satisfaction and a disengaged work environment.

Workplace mentoring programmes have proven to:

  • Improve staff retention rates – rates are 20% higher when employees receive mentoring.
  • Increase productivity – companies that implement formal mentoring programmes experience a 72% increase in productivity.
  • Drive positive cultural change – 100% of Executives cited an increase in job satisfaction.
  • Develop leadership skills – 97% of mentors in the workplace say participation in a programme has helped them to develop their leadership skills.
  • Increase company profits - Companies with mentoring programmes had profits that were 18% better than average.

ABM Workplace Mentoring Initiatives

The ABM's workplace mentoring programmes, led by ABM Founder Kerrie Dorman, are tailored to each organisation. They focus on working with internal teams to develop mentor and mentee skills, training and support.

Kerrie Dorman ABM Founder and lead on Workplace mentoring said:

"Too often, businesses miss out on the full potential of mentoring due to limited resources or a lack of guidance. To help overcome this, the Association of Business Mentors (ABM) now offers comprehensive cost effective solutions. Our initiatives start with an accessible online course that provides essential insights and practical tools for first time programme administrators. We go on to offer skills training days and ongoing programme support from experienced facilitators, ensuring mentoring initiatives are tailored to meet an organisation's specific needs. All of this helps to unlock long-term success and provide a tangible return on time and investment."

Georgina concluded:

"Not only does a well-designed mentoring programme foster a thriving workplace culture, but it also enhances staff retention, boosts morale, and helps develop leadership capabilities across all levels of the organisation. Investing in structured workplace mentoring programmes through the ABM can help your business create a sustainable, engaged, and motivated workforce and with it drive business growth and success."
