Mentoring is deeply rewarding, but it also requires energy, presence, and emotional bandwidth.
Join us for this month’s ABM Skills Sharing Session with ABM Fellow, Brenda Etchells, where we’ll share practical approaches for managing our own wellbeing as mentors—so we can show up at our best for our clients.
This session aligns with ABM Core Competency 2.1 Awareness of Self, Mentee and Environment.
In this session, we will:
- Explore the importance of setting a healthy cadence and pace in mentoring relationships.
- Learn strategies for maintaining and renewing personal energy levels.
- Reflect on mindset and boundaries that keep mentoring constructive and sustainable.
- Practice simple techniques for mental offloading and reset between sessions.
- Exchange tips and experiences with peers to build a shared wellbeing toolkit.
This is a chance to pause, reflect, and share with fellow mentors. By looking after ourselves, we can show up with clarity, compassion, and consistency for the clients we support.”
