About this event

Funded by the Help to Grow: Management Course and designed to equip participants with the confidence and skills to deliver exceptional volunteer mentoring as part of the Help to Grow: Management Course, the next masterclass is Commercial Negotiation Essentials for Business Mentors.

Effective negotiation is a critical capability for business success. This Mentor Masterclass equips business mentors with a practical, structured understanding of commercial negotiation, enabling them to confidently guide mentees through complex negotiations with external organisations, partners, suppliers and stakeholders.

Designed for experienced professionals who support business leaders and entrepreneurs, the programme explores negotiation as a strategic, end-to-end business process rather than a transactional event. Participants gain insight into how successful commercial negotiations are prepared, conducted and concluded to achieve sustainable outcomes and long-term value.

The course examines the essential elements of negotiation, including objectives, power dynamics, interests, constraints, and stakeholder considerations and how these factors influence outcomes in real-world commercial contexts. Emphasis is placed on preparation and planning, recognising these as the most critical stages in determining negotiation success.

Key takeaways

This Mentor Masterclass equips business mentors with practical negotiation frameworks, tools, and insights to confidently support mentees through commercial negotiations. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the end-to-end negotiation process, learn how to prepare and plan effectively, analyse negotiation issues and objectives, adapt negotiation styles to different contexts and guide others toward successful, sustainable commercial outcomes.

Mentors will be able to guide mentees with confidence through preparation, planning and execution of negotiations, helping them secure stronger commercial outcomes while managing risk and preserving long-term business relationships.
