The Association of Business Mentors (ABM), the UK’s professional body for business mentoring, has announced a new mission to “Unlock potential through the power of business mentoring, helping businesses and people to thrive” – as demand for mentoring and ABM membership reaches record levels.
The new mission reflects a strategic shift in response to mounting evidence that professional mentoring drives faster growth, stronger leadership and improved wellbeing for UK businesses. The ABM has seen a significant increase in demand for both its services and the services of business mentors, which has also been reflected in the growth of ABM members.
The move comes ahead of a period where the ABM will launch a number of new national programmes aimed at helping businesses get the most out of mentoring, including a new workplace mentoring accreditation.
Georgina Waite, CEO at the Association of Business Mentors, said:
“The message we are hearing is loud and clear – today’s businesses want mentoring that’s structured, measurable and professionally delivered. Our new mission is a call to action: business mentoring isn’t a ‘nice to have’ – it’s fundamental to building better businesses and stronger economies.
“We’ve seen over the past year a surge in interest in business mentoring, and we feel now is the right time to bring forward our new mission ahead of launching several exciting new offerings later this year.”
Founded to champion the professionalisation of business mentoring, the ABM’s renewed mission positions it at the forefront of fostering business growth and innovation. The new mission is also accompanied by a refreshed visual identity that aligns with its ambitions to increase awareness of the transformative impact effective mentoring can have on individual entrepreneurs, SMEs, and the UK economy at large.
As the importance of mentoring continues to grow in businesses of all sizes, the ABM is committed to creating a world where mentorship is at the heart of business success, where every entrepreneur, business leader, and workplace have the guidance they need to grow with confidence, purpose, and fulfilment.
In research last year, the ABM found that 65% of business leaders felt that the mentoring they had received helped them directly boost their revenues, and 64% said the same of their profits. In addition, 7 out of 10 business leaders also said working with a professional business mentor had led to an improvement in their mental health and confidence.
