Join us for this final ABM CPD Skills Sharing Session of the year, using a case study and role-play approach to help members test their understanding of the skills needed to be an effective mentor — and have a bit of fun along the way.
Following a year of Skills Sharing sessions covering topics such as bias, boundaries, listening, curiosity, wellbeing, impact measurement, and the use of business tools, this session brings those learning points together in a practical and engaging way.
In this session, ABM Fellows Brenda Etchells and Andy Hickman (together known as Br-Andy) take part in a live mentor–mentee role play, with participants using the ABM Core Competency Matrix to identify and assess the skills demonstrated throughout the interaction.
In this session, we:
- Apply learning from the 2025 Skills Sharing programme in a practical case study format
- Observe and assess mentoring skills using the Core Competency Matrix
- Explore what good mentoring looks like in real conversations
- Learn together through discussion, reflection, and a little friendly competition
