Skills Sharing Session – Measuring Mentoring Impact

Join us for this month’s ABM Skills Sharing Session with ABM Fellow Phil Howell, exploring how mentors can effectively measure the impact of their mentoring relationships and understand when meaningful progress has been achieved.

Aligned with ABM Core Competency 2.5: Concluding and Evaluating a Relationship, this session focuses on assessing progress against goals, recognising when a mentoring relationship has run its course, and ensuring conclusions add value for the mentee.

In this session, we:

  • Explore the importance of goal setting at the contracting stage
  • Compare measuring tangible outcomes with less tangible impacts, such as acting as a sounding board or creating space for reflection
  • Discuss how to recognise when a mentoring relationship is no longer adding value
  • Share practical approaches and insights with fellow mentors
