I started professional life as a serial entrepreneur with the motto 'Give it a go or you'll never know', which resulted in a variety of outcomes, some successes with a few failures and scars.
I was introduced to mentoring post my last successful business sale, and whilst realising I had a lot of experience to share with business owners and their teams, I had no support or guidance in what I was doing. I found running a business is a very different skill to mentoring someone else to effectively run, grow and overcome the challenges of theirs. I founded the Association of Business Mentors to provide mentors with exactly that, mentoring skills and training that allows them to be professional mentors as well as have the business experience that is so vital in helping them to become, grow and develop as professional business mentors. My other aim with founding the ABM, but equally important, was to give reassurance to mentees that they are in safe hands with a trusted and experienced ABM professional business mentor.
I now support mentors with practical mentoring skills training to support businesses of all shapes and sizes, as well as work with HR departments in running highly beneficial mentoring programs guiding both mentors and mentees in larger organisations with structure and motivation.
