Member Workshop – Using PIE methodology in assessing value

Member Workshop – Using PIE methodology in assessing value

In this interactive ABM Skills Sharing session, we explore the PIE Model and how performance, image, and exposure influence how your value is recognised.

Originally introduced by Harvey Coleman, the PIE framework highlights that while performance matters, it is only part of the picture. Image and exposure play a significant role in shaping credibility, visibility, and opportunity. In the context of mentoring, this raises an important question: if you know the impact you deliver, do the right people know it too?

This session explores how mentors can strengthen both their individual practice and contribute to elevating the mentoring profession as a whole.

In this session, we explore:
• How the PIE Model applies to your mentoring practice
• Ways to increase visibility, credibility, and perceived value
• How to communicate your impact to the right audiences
• The role mentors can play in growing awareness and demand for mentoring
• How to strengthen both individual positioning and the wider sector

Session format:
Interactive workshop with group discussions and breakout sessions, focusing on both individual practice and the collective growth of the mentoring profession.
