Brenda Etchells

Following a 30 year career in financial services I left in 2019 to start my own strategy consultancy business Carduus Ltd.  I very soon realised that the part I enjoyed most was supporting the business owners to make their own decisions about how to grow their business and overcome challenges.   In effect I was business mentoring before I knew it was a thing!

I was encouraged to join the Association of Business Mentors and decided to study for the ILM7 for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors.  After graduating in 2023 my business mentoring practice went from strength to strength and I also got more involved with the ABM – at first on a volunteer basis and then on a paid contractual basis – becoming their Membership Advisor.  Alongside this I am also part of the team delivering training.

I live and breathe business mentoring and as well as doing it and teaching it I have recently co-authored a book on business mentoring with fellow ABM mentor Les Gill called ‘Addressing the Stag Syndrome’ – looking at why you don’t need to go it alone.
