I am thrilled to take on the role as deputy chair for London and assist with collaboration, sharing good practise and promoting the value of mentoring to a bigger audience by strengthening and growing our collegiate of business mentors.
My business acumen was first developed in the franchise industry, where I achieved award-winning success for unprecedented growth in a new market, establishing a nationwide presence for children’s education services. My professional background includes certification as an accountant, experience as a secondary school teacher, and expertise in software training. I hold professional qualifications in teaching, coaching and mentoring, and digital marketing, and I am currently training as a yoga and meditation teacher.
I have always been passionate about sharing knowledge, which has driven my success in launching multiple education franchises and expanding Hi-Juice into multiple retail locations. With a strong foundation in marketing, network sales, product development, finance, and team building, I help businesses with strategic planning, strengthening clarity, confidence and being a non-judgemental sounding board.
Some of the key roles I’ve held include Franchise Master Licensee & Multi-Franchise Owner, Founder of Get Smart Tutoring & Hi-Juice Smoothies, Lead Mentor at Hi-Juice Business Mentors, Management Accountant at Great Eastern Rail & British Rail Board, and Head of Mathematics.
My passion for growing the mentor network comes from supporting hundreds of franchisees, SMEs, and entrepreneurs—many from concept stage. I retrained as a coach and mentor 10 years ago, focusing on business support while running a property company and education practise.
Outside of my professional work, I am committed to voluntary mentoring. I hold 3 years’ service with Help to Grow Mentorship scheme and I support graduate start-ups with the Entrepreneur in Residence programme at the University of Portsmouth. I was appointed as a Non-Executive Director on The Tutors Association Board for four years. During 2020 I was awarded full membership with the Association of Business Mentors and volunteer ambassador at London events.
With 30 years of experience building businesses in retail, education, and property, I understand the realities of success, failure, and the emotional highs and lows of entrepreneurship. At my core, I am driven by a deep desire to help others flourish. My belief and life mantra: Learning and knowledge are vital; humility provides balance and inner strength. In my spare time, I focus on my faith, yoga, meditation, and outdoor fitness, embracing the challenge of mountain walks and climbs.
