This practical workshop introduces ABM’s Workplace Mentoring and Coaching Framework, Diagnostic and Accreditation.

You will develop the knowledge and confidence to help organisations take a more strategic approach to mentoring and coaching. You will learn how to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities and how to introduce organisations to ABM’s Workplace Accreditation.

This workshop is available exclusively to Help to Grow: Management Course Volunteer mentors.

Why workplace mentoring and coaching matters

When mentoring and coaching are embedded effectively, they can improve organisational performance, strengthen employee retention and support wellbeing.

ABM’s 2025 research found that:

70% of respondents strongly agreed that workplace mentoring and coaching positively affected business performance.
66% reported a positive effect on employee retention and attracting talent.
61% reported improved employee wellbeing.
98% would recommend establishing a workplace mentoring or coaching programme.

This workshop will help you move beyond ad-hoc mentoring and understand what is needed to create a structured, consistent and sustainable mentoring culture.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for Help to Grow: Management Course Volunteer mentors who want to:

Support medium-sized and larger organisations with workplace mentoring and coaching.
Take a more strategic view of an organisation’s mentoring approach.
Identify strengths, gaps and development opportunities.
Understand ABM’s Workplace Framework and Diagnostic.
Confidently introduce suitable organisations to ABM’s Workplace Accreditation.

Eligibility

To take part, you must be a Help to Grow: Management Course Volunteer mentor with relevant workplace and mentoring experience.

You should have worked with at least three organisations, each employing 30 or more people, within the past five years.

You will be asked to answer a qualifying question in Canvas before you can book a workshop. If you do not meet this criterion, please do not continue with the booking.

What will you learn in this workshop?

By the end of the workshop, you will:

Understand why a coaching and mentoring culture matters for organisational performance, employee retention, talent attraction and wellbeing.
Understand the key elements of an effective mentoring culture, including leadership, values, employee engagement, quality and supporting systems.
Recognise the strengths and gaps within an organisation’s current mentoring approach.
Understand how ABM’s Workplace Mentoring and Coaching Diagnostic can identify opportunities for improvement.
Understand ABM’s Workplace Accreditation and the benefits it can offer organisations.
