About James:

Founder of Trafalgar Marquees, built from a university side project into an award winning business supplying temporary structures to the likes of BP, Clifford Chance, Channel 4 and CBRE. Fifteen years on, the company has delivered everything from festival infrastructure to the international broadcast site for the Queen’s state funeral, built in under three days for eight global media groups.

Alongside running the business, he mentors SMEs and boards through the Association of Business Mentors and the Government’s Help to Grow programme, drawing on an MBA and years of hands on experience. He is a longstanding member of the Institute of Directors’ expert advisory group on entrepreneurship and has represented UK small business on two IOD trade delegations.

A regular voice in national media, he has appeared on BBC News 24 and Sky News, written for the Times, Telegraph and FT, and spoken on 5Live, Radio 4 and Times Radio on business, resilience and mental health.
