Stakeholder Mapping is a practical tool for identifying the people who may influence, support or resist a business decision or period of change.
The tool considers each stakeholder’s level of influence and interest. This enables clients to plan how they will communicate, build support, manage resistance and involve the right people at the right time.
When should I use it with a mentoring client?
Stakeholder Mapping can be helpful when a client is:
- Introducing organisational change that will affect employees, customers or partners.
- Launching a new initiative or technology that requires support from different groups.
- Managing resistance or conflicting priorities among influential stakeholders.
- Planning communications and engagement to improve understanding and participation.
