Turning Self-Awareness into Action

Turning Self-Awareness into Action

Turning Self-Awareness into Action provides constructive questions to help clients move beyond recognising an issue and begin taking meaningful action.

Clients may demonstrate a clear understanding of a challenge but continue to delay, avoid or repeat the same behaviour. These prompts help mentors explore what may be preventing awareness from becoming progress.

When should I use it with a mentoring client?

These prompts may be useful when a client is:

  • Repeatedly acknowledging an issue without taking meaningful action.
  • Saying that something is under control when there is little evidence of progress.
  • Avoiding a difficult decision or postponing an uncomfortable conversation.
  • Experiencing a gap between intention and behaviour that is affecting the business or team.
